How we review

Every verdict on Real Buyer Experiences follows the same process. We built it to answer one question honestly: is this actually worth your money?

We’ll be upfront about what we are and aren’t. We don’t run a testing lab, and we don’t claim to buy and live with every product ourselves. Instead, we do the reading you don’t have time for — pulling together the independent testing and the experiences of real owners — and turn it into one clear call. We think that’s a more honest basis for a buying decision than a single reviewer’s take after a few days.

1. We gather the real evidence

For each buying decision, we pull together independent lab and hands-on testing from reputable sources and combine it with what long-term owners report after months of use — not a single ten-minute unboxing. We care most about how something holds up after the novelty wears off: the battery that fades, the app that disconnects, the coating that flakes. That’s the stuff a spec sheet never tells you.

2. We weigh the contenders side by side

We compare the real alternatives in a category on the things buyers actually care about — performance, durability, value, and the small quirks that make or break daily use. We note where the independent reviews disagree, and we single out the popular option that isn’t worth your money, because knowing what to skip is half the decision.

3. We give one clear verdict

You get a straight call — buy it, skip it, or it depends — with who it’s for, who should pass, and a better pick when the obvious choice falls short. We use no star ratings and we don’t assign our own scores, because a categorical verdict is more honest than a made-up number. Our commission is the same whether we recommend a product or pan it, so we have no reason to oversell.

What we will never do

• Pretend we tested something we didn’t. Our verdicts are built on the independent evidence and owner reports, and we say so plainly.
• Accept payment, free units, or sponsorship for a positive verdict or a place in a guide.
• Let commission rates decide our rankings.
• Invent star ratings or claim first-hand lab results we don’t have.
• Copy prices or specs and present them as current — always confirm price and availability on the retailer’s own site before buying.
